Handling of suspicious objects and explosives — bring them directly in front of the centre

If you find a suspicious object or an explosive device, bring it directly IN FRONT of the CIMIC Centre — but under no circumstances carry it INSIDE the building.

Please follow these instructions:

1. Pick up the object carefully and transport it to the CIMIC Centre area.
2. Do not enter the centre building with the object. Stop at the designated area directly in front of the main entrance.
3. Place the object on the ground in the marked zone in front of the centre and step back at least ten metres.
4. Notify the staff at the entrance immediately — a member of our team will come out to receive it.
5. Wait at the entrance area for further instructions.

Why the “in front of the centre” rule matters

Bringing unidentified ordnance or suspicious devices inside the centre puts other civilians, refugees and staff at direct risk. Handing over such items outside, in front of the entrance, allows our EOD-trained personnel to take control of them safely without endangering people in occupied rooms.

If the situation appears immediately dangerous during transport (visible detonator, leaking substance, smoke), stop, retreat to a safe distance and call the emergency line 112 before continuing to the centre.
